  1. I am planning a trip to the Watkins Glen International NASCAR race in August with my family. This trip is going to be fun it will cost only a few dollars as we coupon and volunteer for the track and our tickets will be free. Our family loves this time as we are all into racing.

  2. We will be saving money this summer by going to the library for books, dvd’s & video games instead of buying them. The library also offers great programs & activities for kids of all ages, and it’s all free :)

  3. Our plans are going to a State Park this summer to save money for our Disney trip.. We really want to win!!!

  4. I follow HCW on facebook already. I’m saving money this summer by couponing, and living off of my stockpile. I am also growing my own veggies to save money.

  5. I have been learning the ways of couponing so that we can make ends meet in the summer while having to pay for all those summer camps for my kiddos!

  6. I’m planning on using my couponing skills to find super deals to start donating to my Local food pantry.

  7. we are saving by using coupons and with the savings going to an amusement park that you pay by the ride not an entrance fee. We should be to able camp nearby and have a weekend at the park fairly cheap(under $250 camping/food and rides).

  8. I plan on shortening trips to the store by planning ahead…which will also save me money since I will be planning meals ahead of time and not the same day. We also plan on grilling out more thus saving on our gas and electric!

  9. Hello, I follow you on facebook. This summer we plan on bowling alot. It is free at Kidsbowlfree.com & we will stay nice and cool inside the a/c! Thanks for the contest & the great prizes! :)

  10. We are saving money this year by camping in our backyard and using our own pool this year, we are saving for Disneyworld.

  11. I am going to start line-drying our sheets, towels and some of our clothes to hopefully save on the electric bill:) Pairing that with homemade detergent and vinegar instead of fabric softener…making our laundry experience not only cheaper but “greener”!

  12. We are planning on saving tons by starting to stockpile. Saving every penny right now to pay off debt and get our little girl her first matching bedroom set! Oh and just became a fan on FB.

  13. This summer I am relocating by car from east coast to west coast, which will be costly with all the hotel stays and restaurant eating. Since I find restaurant meals too big and my young children rarely finish their food, my plan is to order only a small salad or cup of fruit for myself and share the chicken fingers, half a sandwich or whatever that my children get but can’t finish. That way I spend less on the meal bill and less food gets wasted.

  14. One frugal thing I plan on doing this summer is buying the beach pass which is cheaper than paying each trip. Fun and it is close by!

  15. We are saving money this summer by staying “frugal” in regards to our son’s 3rd birthday party. He wants a “water sports party” so we are just going to have a sprinkler and baby pool (which we already own) as well as water balloons and just have some outside crazy fun! I am also planning to just borrow and use all of our sports balls, toys, etc as “decoration”!!

I am already a fan on FB and follwer on Twitter! Would love to be entered into both!

  16. Well, I have just started couponing in the past week, so I will be putting a lot of time into that this summer to be frugal! What a great prize this would be to win!

  17. We are saving money this summer by using coupons and increasing our stockpile. My grandson will be visiting for
10 days this summer and plan to use coupons for the different
attractions we visit to save money. Just became a follower on
    FB.

  18. This summer I have planted a swimming pool garden with cucumbers and squash (a plastic baby pool) and some topsy turvy type planters with tomatoes and strawberries, and spring mix lettuce on my back deck. I live in an apartment, so this is the best way to save money on produce. I also have a deal made with a friend to trade some of my veggies for some of his watermelons. Now if I could just figure out how to get that cow on my deck, I’d be set!!!

  19. I am couponing to get rid of debt but for the summer we are taking day trips to do some area activities with the kids. Love the summer!!

  20. I’ve started couponing! I’m excited and have already started saving money. I also pack food when we go out and that’s a big money saver.

  21. We cannot afford a vacation this year. But I do plan on being more diligent with respect to collecting money that is due me. In the past when the grocery store would not give me the sales price on an item, I would just let it go. Now, I am going back to the store to get my money; even if it is only $1.00. I have found lately that it is happening way too much. I also discovered that you can get great coupons on e-Bay and at thecouponclippers.com!

  26. I babysit for my grandaughter once a week and instead of doing fast food for supper–we are going to visit every park in the city and have a picnic at a different one each week. Looking forward to some warm spring weather in Indiana for “Parking”

  27. we are take’n a trip the end of June to go see my brother in the Seattle area, we are drive’n our rv (instead of fly’n) and then we will also have a built in place to stay while there and also when we stop over for a few days in Yellowstone ;-) coupon’n helps us stock up so we can bring supplies w/us and cost us very little for the wk we will be gone—if for some reason we can’t take the rv we will take our minivan and stay w/my lil bro :-)

  28. We are planning a vacation this summer to Colorado and plan to save money by using coupons to buy some of our meals. We hope to get a hotel with a kithenette and only eat out for one meal a day.

We are definitely not planning any big vacations, just a little camping trip at the beach which really doesn’t cost much. And I will be taking advantage of some of the freebies at different book stores like Barnes and Noble to get my youngest daughter free books, which will also help her get reading.

  30. We (my boyfriend and myself) both do the coupon ‘thing’ lol, and we love that we are learning how to save more money each time we take a trip to the shops. We are saving money to do some needed repairs on our vehicle. I am already a follower of twitter, and a fan on fb, my boyfriend just became a follower, and a fan :) Good luck everyone, and happy couponing!

  31. I have older kids who love to hit the mall. To allow a bit of “retail therapy” without breaking the bank, I’ve been getting small gift cards with my mypoints points.

  32. My family and I plan on saving money by going to all the free outdoor movies in our area, also we love going to the National Zoo (which is free)!

  33. Got my pool last year for this summer and plan to pack alot of lunches and go to the beach as much as we can. It’s free(couple of beaches you have to pay to enter here) and my DD loves to go, she can go from the beach to the playground that’s right in the same area.
    Already a Facebook fan.

  34. Following on Facebook and Twitter! I am in love with the site and saving money. So far we have paid off all of our credit card debt and now we are saving up for a cruise! Good luck everyone!

  35. We can’t afford a “real” vacation this year, so my husband and I are taking the girls camping in my sister’s backyard. They live near Gettysburg PA and we will be able to get a few educational tours in and do other things in the local area that are free or low cost. I am a fan on facebook.

I already follow you on Facebook!!! :) The way my family & I are being frugal this summer is we are couponing, using some of our stockpile that I have, taking my daughter to the library & camping this summer & eating veggies from our garden that we started in Feb (we already have lettuce, bell peppers, 2 kinds of tomatoes, & strawberries) so we can attend my brothers wedding in January!!!

  44. I am going to pack a picnic and take my family on a hike instead of a seeing a movie that would cost my family of 4 close to 100.00.

  45. We my husband and our 8 kids are learning to coupon this summer. We are adding couponing to our homeschool curriculum as a life skill.

  48. I am going to save on my summer vacation. This will be the second year I have gone to visit my daughter in Niagra Falls, NY. And only the 2nd time I’ve seen my 1 year old grandson Eric. I am so looking forward to this. Instead of flying this year, I am planning on taking Amtrak. I’ll get several benefits from this. 1. It cost less than flying 2. I will get to sight see along the way and get more out of the vacation. 3. Sitting on a train for 24 hours, I will clean out and reorganize my binder. 5. When I get there, I’ll help my daughter, her hubby and Eric to save some money with my coupons. 5. I’ll also get to visit with some friends in Chicago on my layover. So, I’ll get a lot more bang for my bucks.

  52. This summer I plan to break out my bike and hit my local downtown farmer’s market. I am able to save gas, be eco friendly and shop local!!! I win-win-win :)

  53. Each summer my husband and I pack up and take our boys camping at the lake a few weekends a month. We pay a small fee to keep our camper near the lake. It’s much cheaper than the amount we would spend on gas hauling it back and forth with a gas guzzling truck. And it’s better for the environment! We always take our “almost” free food we bought using coupons and we can keep all the fish we catch. Free fresh fish!

  54. I am a retired teacher from NY who recently bought my first home in NC. My husband is also retired and there are 5 adults and one child in our home. Being on fixed incomes, we are beginning to coupon seriously. This is my first time on HotCouponWorld and I am very excited! Generally if I don’t have a coupon, I won’t buy it. Right now my husband and I are brainstorming the logistics of stockpiling. I have done it with laundry detergent only so far.

  55. I am following you on Facebook and I think my coupon crazy friends will too.
We are turning off the AC this year and planning more camping in the backyard. Also, we are going to movies during the day to save money.
Thank you for your great site!

  56. WE are being frugal this year by “staying home”, Shopping for our winter stock pile and spending time with one another. BTW, I’m a already a Facebook Fan.

  57. I am a fan on Facebook. To save money this summer we will be couponing of course and our fun activities include free local movies in the park, camping in the back yard, $1 movies in the thearter, visiting my mom, the kids get to see Grandma and and Great-Grandma plus go swimming in their community pool. We live close to the beach so that is also a great free day. Thanks!

  58. I am already a facebook fan.

I am going to continue to coupon to save money on groceries so that I have more money to put towards gas. I hate commuting with gas prices so high. Ugh

  59. This summer, I’m going back to my home state for about a week. So to be frugal, I’m going to stay with my little sister and teach her how to coupon instead of staying in a hotel. I’m also going to help her get a stockpile going, but I’ll also be working on mine while I’m there.

  60. We plan to do staycations – probably during soccer tournament season. We’ll pack our coolers with our cheap gatorade, free waters, free protein bars, cheap fruit snacks (and real fruit, too!) – all courtesy of using coupons. I even have coupons for hotels thanks to my Entertainment Book. We buy discounted season passes to the local water park which should keep the boys busy during weekdays.

I am currently a Fan on Facebook. Like Like Like!

  61. Our museum has free days, so I will be taking my son. Also, our printer broke, so I have my husband print my coupons on his lunch break to save money!

  62. I’m a fan! I’m a fan! Both on Facebook and this site. Love all the great advice and strategies. Love trying to beat the previous week’s savings. Thank you!!

  63. We are being frugal this year by starting couponing… I already have a small stockpile after only a few weeks! I only buy clothes at a consignment store ONLY when the have “Bag Sale”–where you can fill up a paper grociery bag for $5! You can stuff a ton of T-shirts and kid’s clothes in them!!! My husband races stock cars –$25 for his enter fee and $20 for my son and my gate pass plus food. Hubby usually makes $100 a race so we save that each week and basically he races for free and we have a blast!!!! We hit all 5 playgrounds to have fun with our 6 yr old boy…dats always free and spend the whole day running from park to park!

  64. I am a new follower. I have been adding to my stockpile, pretty heavily as I am soon to be laid off with budget cuts.

  65. We are using coupons to save money for our vacation…we will also be using coupons on our vacation (why pay full price for anything…meals, entertainment, etc…even while on vacation)….

  66. My hubby, myself and our “coupon queen” daughter and her family are planning on taking their newly adopted kids to the Smoky Mountains this fall by using the money we are saving by using coupons!!

  67. We are saving money this summer by using coupons, also we planted the largest garden we’ve ever had. We hope to be able can and or freeze most of vegetables that we will eat for the next year, plus have enough extra to sell to help pay for our kid’s school supplies next year.

  68. I am a HCW member and a follower on FB. This summer my little girl starts summer school. While she is in school I plan on making more trips for collecting extra inserts and more shopping trips to increase my stockpile. This will allow me to save for a trip to Worlds of Fun for a family getaway.

  69. I’m already a facebook fan…With my extra time this summer I plan to be extra diligent about searching and applying for scholarships/internships (and coupons lol)!

  70. Ha Ha I never win these things but here it goes anyway:
I already follow on Facebook :) and as far as frugal summer fun, we will be using our backyard pool and firepit to have friends over frequently. Our place is always the place to be in the summer. Just need to convince others to bring snacks/drinks.

  71. I am a long time fan, follower, and member. I am planning on working on my stockpile this summer and planting a garden. I hope to be able to can this fall from it. Also I hope to be able to take my son to a few zoos or other activities with some of the savings coupons I have found for my area.

  72. I would love to win the coupon organizer, as I am just getting started with couponing and a little over whelmed at this point.
One of the things I plan to use this summer is the county library. I will be getting books and DVD’s on loan for free, but also will have access to 2 geneology web sites for free. One I can use in the comfort of my home, the other I have to use at the library. So one trip for books and family research a very small price to pay for all the information I will gain.
Love HCW as well as Faye’s web site. Thanks for all the good tips and information. I’m sure it will save me a bundle. Once I get organized.

  73. I am keeping cool by running fans instead of the a/c as much as I possibly can- That should help with the bills, and paying off debt!

  74. I am a HCW member and a fan on FB! To stay cool and save money during the summer, I plan on taking my family to the library. They can enjoy story time, and I can still do coupon planning at the same time while getting out of the house. Nothing like saving money while killing 3 birds with 1 stone!

  75. We are planning a trip out West using the money we’ve saved using coupons. We just started using coupons about 2 months ago. Each trip to the store we save more & more. Our goal is to have enough by August.

  76. I have just found this site this week and I am in love!!! I will be growing my coupon stash, my stock pile, and my knowledge! I also have one big trip planned. Every year The Des Moines Register (Iowa) holds it’s annual bike ride across Iowa (RAGBRAI) It starts on the west side of the state and for 1 week you ride across the state to the east side. This is what I will be doing the last week of July. I am a Facebook fan.

  77. We will be spending lots of time at our local library for Storytime program, the local aquatic center for fun in the sun, and taking classes at our local park centers.

  78. We are exploring the local parks and learning more about the town we’re in instead of going away…and we’re learning/starting to stock pile to get ready for supplies and stuff for the next school year. WOOT!

  79. I’v already planted a small garden and plan to can some of it, also making use of the many farmers markets we have here to pick up fresh produce to can.

  80. We are selling our second car and will be reducing our gas and insurance bills by carpooling this summer.

  81. we plan on extreme couponing, bbqs swimming b-irthday parties enjoying the summer with family and whtever else we can think of to have fun living in a hot coupon world ;)

  82. I am trying to coupon so I can save money to payoff our debt as well save money for a 10 year anniversary trip when I return from my deployment.

  83. I am a follower on FB. My frugal plans this summer include a staycation, grilling 2-3 times per week and focus on becoming a better couponer.

  84. Me and my 2 sisters are going on a family vaction to Florida with our husbands and kids (total of 11 kids) We split the cost for 7 days at a timeshare resort which made it very cheap. We have started couponing together to buy food that we will be cooking while on vacation. We are also visiting other timeshare resorts to receive $100 gift cards, free tickets to Disney Parks and restaurants.

  85. We plan on getting a swim pass to our city pool and also visiting our local library for a cool place to listen to a story! Also have my kids “on board” to not eat out at fast food at all and save that money for “fun extras”.

    Just became a Facebook fan!

  86. We are planning a trip up North to my sons Graduation to cut back on expenses we are buying things at home to take on the trip so no stops for drinks or snacks. Plus I bought a couple coupons for restaurants in the area that will cut the price of dinners with Family. 25.00 gift certificates for 4.00. Plus when we can shop I will be taking coupons with me for store shopping And checking out the stores in the area so I know what specials they will be having so we can cook in the room. We will also be traveling at night while it is cooler so we can save on gas and use our computer to find low gas prices along the way. Will be staying a hotels that offer breakfast to cut one expense out.

  87. Plus we have also turned off the AC so far and cut the light bill back to under 100.00 a month. Also we have discontinued garbage pick up after Landlord says we can take the trash to the office and drop it of since it is right up the road. All the cut back will allow us to even make a trip. Also instead of flying we are carpooling on our trip to save gas expenses.

  88. This summer our family will use the free local pool and the library to entertain ourselves. There is also free moving nights for families and that will take the place of the normal cost of $7 a movie ticket.

  89. I plan on saving money this summer by seeing some of the free movies offered at our local movie theater.

    I’m also a Facebook fan

  90. We are going to take advantage of the pools in our neighborhood and those in our relatives neighborhoods, as well as finding good deals locally for “fun days”.

  91. In my excitement about joining you on FB I forgot to say one frugal thing we’ll be doing this summer. LOL. I’m taking the less expensive route this summer and enrolling my son in the city summer camp. He’s an active boy and it’s a nature camp so we’re ALL really excited!!!

  92. I am couponing to save money for wedding bands for our wedding in September. Cutting down on non essential items like utilities, so I can suprise her when she gets back from being out to sea with the navy!

  93. Just started couponing again and found your GREAT website. This summer I plan to hone my skills more to help provide items for our church’s hospitality tables: coffee, cups, juice, napkins, etc. I even have my teenage daughter interested in started to save money by couponing.

  94. I once was a couponer, I relize i need to get back into it. I really do love to get great deals. So look out here i come….

  95. We traded our gas guzzling boat and now have a “fleet” of 6 kayaks that we launch locally. We tent camp here at a State campground (much cheaper, no electricity!) And our vacations for the past 4 years have been staying next door to my father-in-law’s in New Hampshire – no hotels, etc – eating in and doing things around his lake. Couponing goes without saying – if we don’t have a coupon for it, pretty much, we don’t buy it!

  96. I plan to continue making homemade fresh fruit ice popsicles for the kids to keep cool this summer & definitely used coupons for even more savings :) thanks for this opportunity HCW

  97. ‘liked’ on facebook

    sometime lurker, 1st time poster
i have been couponing for 3 weeks now and i cant believe how much is out there for free/very cheap!
so my frugal deed for the summer is to keep learning, start contacting companies/customer service, and maybe practice being less embarrassed about standing up to pushy cashiers :P

  98. I have coupons from the local Town Planner Calendar for a weeks free memebership to the YMCA. so we plan to spend a week seriously enjoying the pool and other amenities there!

  99. We purchased YMCA memberships this year so that we can enjoy their pool and water playground instead of heading to our local waterpark. This way we can also enjoy all the benefits of the Y — exercise, daycare, free movies for kids, and are classes all summer long and all FREE! :)

  100. My plan is to teach my family & friends a bit of ‘frugalness’ (NOT by calling me or asking me “got any mayo Q’s” or “Mom, I just want 1 shampoo, you got 5 more”) LOL That way, in the long run, maybe next summer we can take a mini vac. all tgether:-D I have been a FB follower:-) TY for chance Lorrie

  101. I plan to not turn on the air conditioner at all this summer and instead just tote a fan from room to room with me.

  102. My plan this summer as we are moving to a new town is to start fresh and truly live off of our homestead. We have 10 acres and can do it. We are selling our dryer and putting up a clothesline, we are planting 2 acres of garden (next spring) and going to will start having farm animals that will eventually be our meat/dairy sources.

  103. I now following you on twitter, and has liked your facebook page. looking forward to starting couponing, and hope that when i stock pile enough stuff, to donate it, and when i stockpile enough coupons, offer trades, and giveaways. thank you very much :D

  104. We will be doing a lot around town. Library days, movie nights, game nights, camping, picnics, swimming at the grandparents and friends, and finding fun activities our cities and surrounding areas offer. We will probably take a trip to the zoo and pack a lunch to save money there.

  105. We are going to be frugal by using more coupons in our house. Nothing will be bought without a coupon or sale. We are also getting a realistic budget together so we can actually get out of debt in the next century. I am an eBay fanatic, so we will be selling more and more. I sell everything we don’t want on eBay because we really need the money. If anyone wants help or suggestions for eBay, just message me. I just recently started couponing about 3 weeks ago and we have saved so much already. I just can’t believe I wasn’t using coupons sooner. I feel like an idiot for not using them all along.

  106. we are going to make a trip to disneyland and are being frugal by using our chase credit card points to buy the tickets

  107. We are taking a trip to Disney World this summer. I plan on saving money by purchasing certificates for meals from restaurants.com in that area when they drop down to 80% off.

  108. I booked our condo for the beach in January and got 25% off, and I also bought some great gift cards from restaurant.com that will save us a ton on eating out!!

  109. I will be saving money this summer by using coupons. I am also planning to take my kids to the park and camping. It is really inexpensive since we already have all the camping gear we will need. My children will also attend VBS since it is free. My daughter is attending a summer program through her school, so her and my son will recieve free breakfast and lunch everyday! Thanks for sending all the savings my way!

  110. We are starting our stockpile to take with us on vacation to the mountains, so we don’t have to buy food while we are there. With all our coupons we pay a fraction what we used to, and we will save a ton of money on our vacation by bringing our food with us!

  111. I will be taking a trip to Florida but staying with my brother in law and going to restaurants.com for certificates for meals.

  112. We are doing all we can to live a frugal, green lifestyle. We solar dry clothes, which has been very difficult lately. We are going a garden and canning to save money on food. This year we are going to can outside so we can try to continue to cool our home without A/C. We hang dark blankets on the south facing windows and use window fans on the north facing windows until it gets too warm and then we close up the house and try to conserve the cool. We also circulate air through our home at night to bring in the cool evening air. Keeps the house cooler through the day.
For vacation…because we lost our jobs and haven’t found anything else, we are staycationing. We are going to a state park a couple of hours away to camp. We use coupons to stock up food all we can, but we live in a smaller community that doesn’t have the big competition and we can’t get coupons as much. We don’t purchase on Sunday and haven’t found a store that will keep the Lexington Herald until we can get it Monday morning. :( Even talked to the Herald and they don’t seem to care. When we lived in Georgia, the ALJ Sunday paper stayed in the stores until it sold out which was usually by Wednesday. Sigh.

  134. I can tell you how I saved for a big trip out west last summer: put out an email request from friends and friends of friends for camping equipment, got a ton! Signed up for KOA (for campsites and also these great, little cabins). Was lent and used my brother’s hotel points for four stops along the way and back, and contacted family in all the states along the way! We had a blast and saved a lot of money. I’d do it that way again!

  135. This has been a tough year for the budget and with the future uncertain, we are going to make the MOST fun we can out of our summer by camping closer to home to save on gas…stocking up on camping food with coupons and riding bikes/scooters on a local trail by our house…oh and we just had a garage sale to fund our fun!!!

We are EXCITED to use it for a budget friendly outing this summer as a family!! Our kids have asked about going skating for a while now, and this makes it VERY affordable!

  150. I became a fan on facebook!!!Also another idea is we love camping and don’t mind doing it in a tent during the summer, which saves a TON compared to a hotel or even cabin, and we just love being in the outdoors, so we also plan to make a trip to the coast this summer again and save $$$ camping in a tent and enjoying the beach!

  151. I’m finally listing all of the baby stuff in the attic on Craig’s List. That should generate a little fun money!

She is so much like me and we are going to have the best summer ever. I see her so little and this will be so much fun, especially someone to help me clip those coupons.

  157. I am purchasing items when on sale now such as sunscreen so that I don’t have to pay full price when the time comes!

  158. Living in Arizona, the summers here can be HOT HOT HOT… When temps reach 120, you reach for anything cool. So this summer we are going to finally set up a pool that we bought 2 years ago on clearance for 75% off. It’s a dream come true, basking in our own little pool, in our own little yard. A 3′ tall pool that is 10′ across is just what the doctor ordered when you can fry an egg on the man hole covers, or your vehicles. With the money we save on groceries and toiletries,(I put in a savings account), we can fill the pool and have an enjoyable summer with friends and Bar-b-ques.

  159. I plan to use coupons more effectively so I can cut the cost of our groceries. We have been cutting were we can on bills and selling stuff on Ebay and Craigslist that we no longer need/want in order to pay off credit card bills. I want to be debt free in no more than two years!

  163. I’m 6 months preggo with twins (and I have a 14 month old). Since I know my grocery time will be limited, I’m reorganizing my coupon notebook so my husband can take over the shopping. I’ve created a layout of the grocery stores we visit so I can sort coupons for him in the order he would move through the store. And I’m printing the store coupon rules since he’s not familiar with them. We’re also creating a weekly menu that we can live with if we had to reuse every week. This way he’ll become familiar with the ingredients we use the most and be able to shop on the fly if needed. We also expanded our garden so we’d have more veggie options without going to the store.

  164. I signed my son up for the “Kids bowl free” program, and bought the family pass for the rest of the family, so we’ve been able to go bowling for very little money.

  165. Well, to be honest I am just now starting my couponing binder. I have used coupons in the past, but really want to take it up a notch so my plan is to get organized over the summer and stock up on coupons, learn the lingo and get ready to SAVE SAVE SAVE. The coupon inserts would really help with this process.

  170. Since we will be having big life chances after the end of summer we are going to be extra frugal & live off the stockpile. We have enough food in the pantry & freezer to make it on $50/week for the fresh food needs for probably 3-4 months. By that time the move should have happened and I can start replenishing the stockpile.

  171. Hi, For this summer I plan to eat out of my pantry and freezer so I can clean them out and restock it from the garden I have planted. A big garage sale is in the works too.

  172. This summer my family and I plan on going to the local pool everyday to use up our pool pass that we purchased.
